Hi, I’m Megan - Native Plant Gardener

Since completing my P.h.D. in Geography, I ran into some health issues that made screen time difficult. Transitioning into gardening helped tremendously with my physical and mental health. But as I began to learn about how vital native plants are to our entire food web, I felt disheartened by how many properties were made up of lawns accented by mostly non-native plants, including many invasive species!

Knowing that I wanted to support healthy ecosystems, and knowing that education around native plants can be as scarce as native plants themselves, I decided to start Birds & Bees Native Plant Gardening. I want to help people realize their dreams of creating not just beautiful gardens, but ones that help address our biodiversity crisis, too.
